The Former President's Regime of Consequences and Incentives

The ex-president's insatiable urge for payback has rapidly transformed into a methodical apparatus. During the year since his election, the chief executive's fury and caprices have assumed the guise of government actions in a manner comparable to past authoritarian regimes. Justice department figures who do not cooperate are summarily dismissed and replaced by supporters. Critical figures who confront him face legal action, judicial process and punishment. Critics have been labeled under presidential memoranda as “hostile to national interests”, “opposed to religious values” and “anti-capitalist”, and warned with legal action as “extremists”.

Government Institutions Transformed

Each situation involving legal action of Trump's enemies and immunity for loyalists exhibits its own unique qualities. However, despite their specific nature, they represent expressions of what has emerged as a calculated approach. Those events are not isolated. His removal of federal lawyers and law enforcement officials, coupled with his placement of supporters in key positions, started quickly, quickly took on a pattern, and has now been shaped into a system. Federal prosecutors and the law enforcement agency have been remade into ideological agencies under the president's clear orders to carry out his wishes. Injustice has been made routine. It constitutes the apparatus of revenge.

Administration is focused with punishing the leader's alleged adversaries than they are with defending our national security.

Internal the Apparatus

The beginnings of this system has been revealed in the court filing of several former high-ranking FBI agents lodged in September in the US district court in DC against FBI director an administration figure and justice department head another official for illegal termination in “a campaign of retribution against them for what Defendants deemed to be a failure to demonstrate adequate allegiance”. In the complaint that one official, the former temporary head, recounts a conversation in which Patel “openly acknowledged the impropriety of his behavior”.

He had tried to protect FBI agents from being fired, the lawsuit states. The director told him that “White House figures” – interpreted by the official to be the White House and justice department – had ordered him to dismiss anyone who they determined as having participated in a legal probe against the president. The complaint adds: “The director explained that he had to fire the people his leaders told him to fire, because his ability to keep his own job relied on the ouster of the officials who were involved in cases involving the President. Patel noted that there was no way he or him could do to prevent these or any other terminations, because ‘the bureau sought to incarcerate the leader in prison and he recalls it clearly.’” When he informed Patel he was breaking the bureau's own regulations, he supposedly said “he recognized that and he was aware the nature of the summary firings were likely illegal”.

Widespread Effects

Following Patel's alleged confession to the official, the DoJ and the Federal Bureau have been weakened and reorganized for Trump's revenge apparatus. Six of the agency's senior executives were fired or pushed out in the first days of the administration. Approximately thousands of professional attorneys at DoJ have accepted a “voluntary departure plan”. At least multiple DoJ lawyers, among them those in the New York office, stepped down in protest over what they regarded as partisan influence in withdrawing the corruption case against the local official, Eric Adams, in as a trade for his cooperation with the administration's federal agency arrests of migrants. The ethics division of the justice department, which oversees ethical violations, has been reduced to minimal staff. The equality section has been decimated: 70% of its employees has resigned. 33% of executives at the justice department have resigned. The division implementing conservation statutes has experienced the exit of 50% its supervisors.

Incentives and Penalties

Concerning the mayor's situation, the temporary lawyer for the southern district of New York, Danielle Sassoon, resigned in objection against what she characterized as the “exchange”. Tom Homan, Trump's “enforcement chief,” was present as the agent with the mayor on television to announce: “Should he fail to deliver, I will return in NYC.”. Additionally, a former official, formerly the senior DoJ official and a past legal representative, who arranged the arrangement, was awarded an appellate federal judgeship, a potential pathway to the judicial branch.

His immunity for crimes committed while in government, provided by the unprecedented ruling of the conservative on the supreme court, thus thwarting his legal action over the Capitol riot and safeguarding his political viability for the national vote, is the foundation stone on which he relies to defend his supporters. Under these circumstances, he has been empowered to authorize corruption. The consequence of the judicial ruling infuses his administration and the political party thoroughly. The court matter has spread. Similar to Richard Nixon's administration lawyer John Dean said about the Watergate
